PRODUCTION STEPS
Here’s a general outlook of a mascot project, from its initial conception, to completion :
- Black and white drawing;
- Black and white design changes to final approval;
- Color drawing;
- Changes to color drawing to final approval;
- Approval of fabric samples intended for mascot production;
- 3D drawings of head (black and white);
- Modifications of head’s 3D drawings until final approval;
- Manufacture and approval of head structure (based on approved 3D);
- Approval of head with temporarily fixed materials;
- Final approvals of other costume parts;
- Approval of your new mascot;
- Communication with project manager for details on maximizing the performance of marketing tool, animating your new mascot and its maintenance!

MORE INFORMATION
A quality mascot costume should always have a head with a neck, a body with arms and hands, and legs with feet. Such costumes are conceived to facilitate animation, transportation, and cleaning.
Other types of designs can also be considered, even with more massive structures. However, the costume will undoubtedly experience premature damages, due to the materials and technics used, not allowing adequate cleaning. Choosing such a costume format also implies having a transport bag that is necessarily larger, and therefore heavier. These factors can obviously complicate the logistics of transportation and increase shipping costs significantly.
With designs preventing cleaning after each use, suits are not hygienic, and cannot be worn by more than one person. Consequently, finding people to animate the costume can become difficult, perhaps even impossible at times.
Our quality suits provide you a range of possibilities that other types of costumes do not. Our costumes are easy to animate, allowing your performer to run freely, dance, walk, tumble and lift the crowds at will.
Keep in mind that good animation makes all the difference, but a good costume facilitates animation!
An array of samples will be provided. If not satisfied, other suggestions can be offered upon request. If material choices were to have an impact initial production lead times, you would be informed accordingly.
Créations Animation Mascottes provides several choices, in accordance to your tastes and budget. We offer you the opportunity to create a sweater (a range of garments also available) that will be handmade by a professional seamstress, or to make it a sublimated garment.
Handmade creation
Following the approval of a drawing or picture, a quote will be provided. If this option catches your interest, logos can be added in chenille embroidery or silk yarn. The cost will be established upon reception of the logo.
Sublimation
The cost will vary based on the type of garment selected. We’ll provide you an estimate and a visual sample for approval before production. This option is not only trendy, since because we can realize any design, but allows us to offer you competitive prices.
Whether you choose short hairs or short hairs does not matter because most of our mascot costumes are all washable, and maintenance only takes a few minutes longer if you opt for long hairs because you have to brush them. However, we recommend choosing the short plush for the face area; the result is often more beautiful and allows people more details.
The athletic shape
Lately, mascot costumes with an athletic shape have increased in popularity. However, it must be understood that the plastron is made of foam, so that means it will be warmer, but also less flexible than the internal structure (belly). The performer will be less free of movements, and the plastron restricts many types of shape of people that can wear it.
The belly
Even if there are more demands for the athletic shape, the belly for a mascot is still the most popular. The internal structure (belly) is made to fit more shape of people, but it is also an accessory that the performer can move according to his imagination, and to make the crowd laugh. The internal structure is light and is designed to let the air circulate, for the comfort of your performer.
